Z is for Zebra

Drawn in Illustrator CS5

It's done! After much blood and treasure, it's done.

...now for part II.

Y is for Yak

Drawn in Illustrator CS5

One (1) more illustration, and we're done!

X is for Xantus' Hummingbird

Drawn in Illustrator CS5

It came down to the hummingbird of record versus some obscure species of dinosaur. I think that the former, though hardly a perfect fit, justifiably won.

W is for Walrus

Drawn in Illustrator CS5

Just three (3) illustrations left, and the series will be complete!

V is for Velociraptor

Drawn in Illustrator CS5

The wonderful thing about drawing dinosaurs is the artistic license one enjoys with respect to things like color.

T is for Toucan

Drawn using Illustrator CS5

It's hard to believe that we're almost done with this series (only six left!). Anyhow, U through Z should be interesting.

R is for Rhinoceros

Drawn using Illustrator CS5

Thought about rendering "R is for Ray," but the composition I had just didn't pan out. Rhinoceroses are, incidentally, more adorable.

P is Also for Puffin

Illustrator CS5

Not as adorable as penguins, sure, but a blast to draw all the same.

P is for Penguin

Illustrator CS5

P also stands for "Puffin," which I intend to illustrate later today.

Also: I have decided that these illustrations belong in a children's book, which I will design as soon as the series is complete.

O is for Otter

Illustrator CS5

Well, look at that: We're more than half way through the alphabet!

10/3/10

N is for Narwhal

Illustrator CS5

Unicorns of the sea, you see. (Most terrible rhyme/pun ever, I know.)

P.S.: Love tasty food and good writing? Check out Dani's blog for delicious recipes!

M is for Macaque

Illustrator CS5;
slight post-processing in Photoshop CS5

Japanese Macaques, to be exact.

It occurs to me that the more sophomoric among you will point out phallic resemblances in this illustration. I assure you that this is merely a figment of your perverted, Freudian imagination. Also: Why do you hate adorable macaques/America?

K is for Kiwi

Adobe Illustrator CS5

Fact: Kiwis are adorable.

J is for Jaguar

Adobe Illustrator CS5

Ugh--I hate it when projects stall. I'd been working on this one for some time now, but couldn't get something satisfactory until now.
