Monogram-a-Week: 013

This week's entry: "EO." I drew the lettered version first, and, dissatisfied with my (very) haphazard draftsmanship, decided to revisit the monogram with some chunks of leftover graphite. Personally, I much prefer the calligraphic execution's texture and contrast to the lettered form.

Monogram-a-Week: 01

Starting today, I'll be making a monogram a week for an entire year (or longer, who knows). It'll mostly be a chance for me to play around with letterforms, but if you'd like to commission a monogram, then feel free to shoot me an email at tsquared1017@gmail.com. And God Said It Was...

...an illustration for this month's issue of The Hypocrite Reader, this time for an article about transcendence and re-creation in Genesis.  I thought that a mostly typographic, calligraphic solution was most fitting given the importance of language in creation and connotations of divine grace. The lettering was initially hand-drawn, then scanned and digitally inked.
